Hidden gem for sure. Kabob'd here last week with baby gurl.

High quality food, nice location and very friendly owners. Wouldn't come here for date night however it's the perfect casual lunch / dinner spot.

Not too sure about the market side.

    10 / 10 would kabob again.

This place is decent but too pricey for what it is. I walked in one Saturday evening and convinced my boyfriend to eat here because of all the positive yelp reviews...but I think these reviews are to help a struggling business honestly.

Story time! As my boyfriend and I ordered, the owner quickly charged each of our meals an extra dollar that was not posted ANYWHERE, citing it would help pay for increase rent in his space. I did emphathize for him and decided to continue to eat there to "help him out." But still, telling his customers AFTER they order and not posting anywhere on the walls that everything on the menu was up charged by a dollar seems...unethical.

As for food - it's too damn expensive for mediocre food. It was a giant rice pile and salad with hardly any protein.

    Pros: *crickets *

    Cons:
-price to food quantity and Quality
-Upcharge without any posts in addition to steep pricing
    -lack of courtesy

Summary: It's not a foodie place so it's not worth the price tag. I would not recommend.

Terrific meal. Stopped by on a trip to UCSD and this little hidden gem has terrific kebab and other options. The older gentleman who was on the grill is, I presume, the proud owner and you can tell what care he puts into every plate.

I got the chicken kebab plate that comes with basmati rice and a salad.

All of it was very tasty and I will definitely go back.

I've been looking for a good Persian restaurant since I left the DC area and have yet to find it. I tried the loobia polo and i was appalled at how mushy and over cooked the rice was, and it has NO flavor whatsoever. How is that even possible? The were tiny pieces of beef and the occasional green bean that was from a can floating in the massive mound of rice mush. It was an awful excuse for Persian cuisine. That being said the must-o-khair wasn't bad and the service was quick.
Never coming back though. Sorry but if you can't properly cook a staple like rice you don't deserve another chance.

I have been coming to this husband and wife little restaurant for I believe over 20 years. They've always been very sweet and hard-working and the staff is very kind. The owners are for my Iran and they really know how to cook the food well. The house plate, which is what I normally order, is a minced meat that they take very much pride in making. You need to call before coming in or else you have a 30 to 45 minute wait because they cook everything fresh. They have a great selection of food items to purchase also that are canned, for example olives, jams, and many other Persian specialties that you find hard to find anywhere else. They also have a daily special which is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone.
